Interior Painting & Touch-Ups in Toronto & the GTA
Fresh paint is the fastest way to make a room feel new. We handle single accent walls, full rooms, trim, doors and ceilings — prepping properly, protecting your floors and furniture, and leaving crisp lines with a finish that lasts.

FixitPlus provides interior painting across Toronto and the GTA — single rooms, accent walls, trim, doors and ceilings. A painting visit includes floor and furniture protection, filling and sanding, cutting in by hand, two coats where needed, and a full clean-up. Colour advice is included at no charge.
Nothing changes a room faster, or for less money, than fresh paint. A tired hallway becomes crisp and bright, a dated bedroom becomes calm and current, and a single accent wall can give a whole space a focal point it never had. But the difference between a paint job that looks professional and one that looks rushed lives almost entirely in the preparation and the cut lines — the parts most people would rather skip. FixitPlus treats prep as the job, not the afterthought, which is why our finishes look clean up close and hold up over time.
We handle everything from a single accent wall to full interior repaints. Bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, kitchens, ceilings, trim, doors, and feature walls — prepped properly, cut in by hand for razor-straight edges, and rolled to an even, consistent finish with no roller marks or thin spots. We fill and sand holes and dents first, spot-prime as needed, caulk gaps along trim, and use quality paint that covers well and cleans up without burnishing. The goal is a finish you’d be happy to look at in raking sunlight.
Beyond full rooms, we’re the people to call for the touch-ups that make a home feel cared for: scuffed baseboards, chipped door frames, marks along a stairwell, patched drywall that needs blending in, and the wall repairs we’ve just finished for you. We colour-match existing paint where we can, and give you honest advice when a wall is better repainted corner-to-corner than spot-touched — because a mismatched touch-up can look worse than the mark it was meant to hide.
Preparation and protection are where we earn our keep. We move and cover furniture, mask trim, floors and fixtures, repair surface damage, and prime where the situation calls for it so the topcoat goes on evenly and lasts. When we’re finished, we remove the tape cleanly, do a careful walk-around for any missed spots under good light, reinstall everything, and leave the room clean and ready to enjoy — not a job you have to finish yourself.
What a painting & touch-ups visit covers
A painting visit is a full service, prep through cleanup:
Prep is the job — the paint is just the last two hours
A painting result is decided before the first roller goes on. The visible difference between a professional interior paint job and a weekend one is almost entirely in preparation, sheen selection and cutting in — not in the brand of paint.
Protection and masking come first
Floors covered, furniture moved or wrapped, hardware removed rather than taped around where practical, and clean edges established at the ceiling, trim and floor lines. In a home with finished hardwood, stone or a full set of furniture, this is a genuine share of the visit and it is not optional.
Filling, sanding and spot-priming
Nail holes and dents filled, caulk lines at the trim renewed where they have opened, glossy trim de-glossed so paint can key to it, and stains or repairs spot-primed. Paint does not hide a defect — it lights it.
Sheen is a functional decision, not just a look
Flat and matte hide wall imperfections beautifully and clean badly, which is why they belong on ceilings and low-traffic walls. Eggshell is the usual compromise for living areas. Satin and semi-gloss belong on trim, doors, kitchens and bathrooms where you need to wipe surfaces and shrug off moisture. Choosing sheen by room function rather than by swatch is the advice that saves the most regret.
Cutting in by hand beats tape
A steady hand with a good angled brush produces a crisper ceiling and trim line than tape does, and it does not lift paint on removal. We cut in by hand, which is slower per wall and the reason the edges look right.
Touch-ups are harder than full walls
This surprises people. A touch-up has to match colour, sheen and roller texture against paint that has already aged and faded slightly. Sometimes the honest answer is that the patch will always show and the wall should be rolled corner to corner. We will tell you that before we start rather than after you have paid for a touch-up you can still see.
Signs it is time to call about painting & touch-ups
A refresh is worth booking when:
Walls look tired or dated
Scuffs, marks and an old colour drag a whole room down — a repaint is the fastest, most affordable reset.
You’re selling or moving in
Fresh, neutral paint photographs beautifully and makes a home feel clean, cared-for and move-in ready.
Trim and doors are chipped
Worn baseboards and door frames are high-touch spots that make even a tidy home look neglected.
You just had wall repairs
Patches and new drywall need proper priming and blending to disappear under a consistent coat.
Where interior paint jobs go wrong
- 1Painting over glossy trim without de-glossing, so the new coat peels off in sheets at the first knock.
- 2A dark colour rolled over a light one in two coats when it genuinely needed a tinted primer, leaving patchy coverage that only shows once it dries.
- 3Flat paint in a hallway or a kids’ room, which marks permanently and cannot be washed.
- 4Skipping spot-primer over drywall repairs, so every patch flashes a different sheen under daylight.
- 5Tape pulled after the paint has fully cured, which takes the edge of the new coat with it.
How we handle painting & touch-ups
Here’s how a typical painting job runs:
Prep the surfaces
We fill holes, sand rough spots, caulk gaps and spot-prime so the topcoat goes on evenly and lasts.
Protect the space
We move and cover furniture, mask trim and fixtures, and lay down floor protection before a drop of paint is opened.
Cut and roll
We hand-cut clean edges, then roll even coats — as many as the colour and coverage need — for a consistent finish.
Inspect and reset
We pull the tape cleanly, check every wall under good light, touch up as needed, and put the room back together.
Painting & Touch-Ups in Toronto, York Region, Peel & Durham
GTA homes bring two recurring painting jobs. Two-storey stairwells and foyers in Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham need proper access equipment to cut in a clean ceiling line at height — the most common reason a homeowner’s own paint job stops halfway up a wall. Older Toronto and Unionville homes bring plaster walls and heritage trim profiles, where de-glossing and careful hand-cutting matter far more than they do on modern builder trim.

Builder brains on every job
Prep is the priority
We spend the time on filling, sanding and priming that makes the finish look professional and last.
Crisp, hand-cut lines
Straight edges where wall meets trim and ceiling are the mark of a real paint job — and where we shine.
Honest colour advice
We’ll tell you when a wall should be fully repainted rather than touched up, so you don’t end up with a patchy result.
Clean and considerate
Your floors, furniture and fixtures are protected, and the space is left tidy and ready to use.
Painting & Touch-Ups pricing — honest and flat-rate
Painting is quoted by scope after we see the space. What drives the price:

Interior painting in Toronto: what to ask any painter before you book
Two quotes for the same three rooms can describe very different jobs. Before you hire house painters in Toronto — us or anyone else — these questions make the quotes comparable and show you who has actually looked at your walls. Most of a good paint job is preparation, and preparation is exactly what a vague quote leaves out.
Ask for the answers in writing, and be wary of any painter who won’t give them. That’s how we quote: a flat rate agreed before work starts, with the scope spelled out, and Alan as your single point of contact from the estimate to the final walkthrough.
“Exactly which surfaces are included?”
Walls only, or ceilings, trim, doors and closets too? Both faces of every door? Window sills, stair stringers and the bulkhead over the kitchen cabinets? The lowest quote often leaves these out and adds them later.
“Which paint, which sheen, how many coats?”
Good interior painters name the product line and sheen for each surface and state whether it’s one coat, two, or primer plus two. A dramatic colour change sometimes needs a tinted primer — you want that on paper, not decided on the day.
“What happens when you find damage?”
Popped screws, cracks and old anchor holes often appear once the furniture moves. Ask whether minor filling is included and how anything bigger is handled, so the job doesn’t quietly grow halfway through.
“Are you insured and WSIB-covered?”
A fall from a ladder in your stairwell becomes your problem if the company isn’t covered. Ask for proof of liability insurance and WSIB coverage. We carry both.
“What do I get at the end?”
Ask for a daylight walkthrough before the crew leaves, and for the leftover paint to stay with you, labelled with room, colour and sheen. That label is what makes a future touch-up match.
Planning your painting & touch-ups job

Painting & Touch-Ups — common questions
Either works. We can pick up quality paint in your chosen colour and finish, or apply paint you’ve already bought. If you’d like help choosing a colour or sheen, we’re glad to advise.
Sometimes — if we have a match and the wall’s sheen cooperates. But touch-ups can flash and stand out, so we’ll give you an honest call on whether a spot-touch or a full-wall repaint will actually look better.
Yes. We move and cover furniture as part of the job and put everything back when the paint is dry. For very large or delicate pieces we’ll talk through the plan with you first.
Most walls are dry to the touch within a couple of hours and fully cured over the following days. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to rehang art and move things back.
We quote interior painting flat-rate before starting, based on the number and size of rooms, ceiling height, how much prep and repair the surfaces need, whether trim, doors and ceilings are included, and how much protection and masking the space requires. Whether you supply the paint or we do also affects it. Send photos and room sizes and we will price it, usually within one business day.
Yes — small painting jobs are welcome, and they combine well with other items in the same visit. One thing we will be straight with you about: touch-ups have to match colour, sheen and roller texture against paint that has already aged, so sometimes the honest recommendation is to roll the wall corner to corner instead. We will say which it is before we start.
Yes, at no extra charge. After twenty years in GTA homes we have a clear view of which whites and greys hold up under the light in north-facing rooms, which sheens survive a hallway with kids, and which ceiling colour makes a nine-foot room feel taller. Final say is always yours.
